This is a specialized paddle down the Chassahowitzka River!
We will see the sunset through the palm trees within a diverse natural swamp hammock in a primitive area of the river. You never know what kind of surprises and wildlife we will see paddling down river including dolphins, manatees, otters, bald eagles and more!
Before we head back up river we will stop where it opens up and we have a great view of the night sky to watch for shooting stars to put on a dazzling display!!! We plan these paddles on the peak night of all our annual meteor showers for the best chance to see the most. You will learn what causes meteor showers. We will also learn about constellations, planets and how the native Indians and sailors used the night sky as a calendar and to navigate.
